Working Group 2

Higher Education Institutions (HEI),Social change and transformation

One of the challenges of rapidly changing contemporary society is to determine what we should teach in the future and how it should be taught. There is a need to establish knowledge alliances and exchange between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and enterprises which aim to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity, employability and multidisciplinary teaching and learning.

Working Group 2 intends to analyse the role of  HEIs in creating social change, transformation and impact. Its activities will include analysis of social entrepreneurship eco-system and how it relates to HEIs as well as analysis of innovative approaches adopted by the voluntary and community sector in supporting social change, such as corporate volunteering, social philanthropy, social investment bonds and others.

The results of the efforts of the working group have been compiled into a book by Springer
„Social Innovation in Higher Education – Landscape, Practices, and Future Opportunities” by prof. Carmen Paunescu, Dr.Katri-Liis LepikDr.Nicholas Spencer (eds.)
