Over the last 5 month academics, as part of WG1 in the Cost Action CA18236 SHIINE, have been examining accounts of social change in 22 different national contexts. This work culminated with 27 academics collaborating at Bazelal Academy of Art and Design at their spectacular Hansen House Campus in Jerusalem. The group has produced insights into the complex dynamics of social change and understanding about the role of systemic design for working purposefully and responsibly in contested settings. Additionally, a number of outlines have been produced for impact-orientated research that would further our understanding of engaging in the complexity of social change while seeking to enhance the conditions locally for dignified positive change.
